🤦🏽‍♂️STOP LYING to yourself!!😛

Have you ever witnessed something like this, maybe not in High-School or College Level but at a Pre-School level this fact could hold true and that is not a good thing. Because when we're kids we're innocent we believe whatever is taught, we find the situations happening around us to be universal and make a mindset which is going to stuck with us for the lifetime. This is like scarring someone's childhood (the kid who didn't got the attention and affection they needed) & also their mentality. 👋🏼Hi, I’m Rachel, but my favorite people call me Ms. Solomon! A lot of new people have started following my journey over the past few months, + now that it’s finally summer break, please allow me to reintroduce myself. Here are some fun facts about me! 🌟Do we have anything in common? Let me know in the comments below or in a DM!⬇️ 1️⃣This coming school year will be my THIRD year teaching 5th grade! Most people aren’t a fan of 5th grade, + think it’s “the worst” age to teach, but I absolutely love it. Sassy 11-year-olds are my jam😎 2️⃣I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2016 where I was in the College of Education. I student taught in 3rd grade, + I had one of those rare experiences where I actually learned SO much + felt truly prepared for my job🎓 3️⃣I now work for Baltimore County Public Schools, which is the same school system where I attended elementary, middle, + high school! No, I don’t work at my old elementary school (just one around the corner)📚 4️⃣Everything in my classroom is emoji-themed. I love it, the students love it, + when I see something with emojis on it, I can’t help but buy it🤩 5️⃣I often teach using a microphone. It makes the lesson more fun + creates engagement. It also promotes participation. I’ve been called “extra,” + it’s still the best $15 I’ve ever spent at Walmart🎤 6️⃣I teach in a Title 1 school + I put relationships above ALL else. I work my butt off to make sure that my students know that they matter + that I love + care about them. I often put lessons on pause to take time for social + emotional learning. I think teaching them to be good people who know how to effectively communicate is WAY more important than the curriculum🗣 7️⃣I’ve been asked how I have so much energy. The answer: 1) I’m 24 + 2) Coffee. A lot of coffee. Remember: Instagram is a highlight reel! My classroom still has cussing, fighting, screaming, crying, + failure. I have bad days, I get frustrated, + I sometimes come home + cry. This job is HARD WORK, + we teachers surely don’t get enough $ or respect, but it’s still the best job. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Getting paid to do what you love is a special thing🍎 #madeinfifthgrade
